Hi there!
I'm Subbu — I build chips for a living and write about the craft at systemverilog.io, a site focused on the technical aspects of SoC/ASIC development.
In Chip Log you will find:
ELI5 (Explain Like I’m 5): Semiconductor tech is having a moment — and for good reason. I aim to demystify the chip design process for non-engineers and those in adjacent engineering fields.
Behind the scenes: Plenty of sites cover the technical aspects of chip development. But there’s a lot to be said from the stand point of an engineer — what’s going on in his/her mind as they perform their tasks, collaborate with their teams, and drive a project from architecture to tape-out. I intend to shed some light on this.
Stream of thought: In the process of engineering a Chip, I derive inspiration and realization from the books, articles and papers I read and learn from. Chip Log will be my workshop or playground, if you will, to help me hone my thoughts and develop these realizations to maturity. So, some of these posts might feel unsatisfyingly unfinished, but, that is the point.
